We are the Crew of Garabes eager to venture into the seven seas, different cultures and last but not least into ourselves.

Ruud (1957) is
a Dutchman, born in
the Netherlands and raised in Luxembourg. His professional background
is finance. He holds a Masters degree from the University of Heidelberg
and an MBA degree.
Araksi (1958) is an Armenian, born and raised in Istanbul. She met Ruud, her husband, in Heidelberg during her studies. She holds an PhD degree in philosophy. Now,
certainly this doesn’t make us good sailors; in
the last eight years we have been working on our sailing skills,
preparing
ourselves for the long journey. We did the RYA sailing courses in Britain,
and sailed in the Dutch IJsselmeer, in Denmark, and
in the Mediterranean (Italy, Croatia, Greece, Turkey).
